On June 14th -16th , the 2012 Shanghai International Quartz Materials Expo (AM China), in cooperation with the 2012 China Advanced Materials Industry Development Forum and the 4th Shanghai International Wear-Resistant Materials and Industrial Ceramics Expo opened its gate at the Intex Convention Center Shanghai. The Quartz Materials Expo integrated the Shanghai International Quartz Materials New Technology Conference 2012.
The Expo scoped on the domestic high purity quartz production, and a broad range of high quality quartz products for the lighting, semiconductor, photovoltaic and semiconductor industry. Companies such as Jiangsu Pacific Quartz Co., Fudong Quartz LLC, Taicang HuaAn Quartz Glass Product Co. and Sinoteng Silica Materials Technology Co. presented various products including lighting and semiconductor base material appliances, quartz glass rods and tubes, quartz plates, semiconductor and solar crucibles, quartz wafers and electronic grade crystalline and fused quartz powder.
Anzaplan had been invited to attend the Quartz Materials Conference which provided information of most recent developments in the field of both, domestic and overseas quartz supply and processing. Promoted by the Silica Industry Association in Donghai County, the National Silica Deep Processing Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and the Jiangsu Pacific Quartz Holding Company the following topics were presented:
- Developments in quartz technology and application
- Study of Quartz Analysis Technology and Measurement Standard
- High Purity Quartz: Processing and Applications
- Application of Hot Chlorination Technology in Purification of quartz
Jiangsu Pacific Quartz offered detailed insight in its recent high purity quartz sand activities. In total 9.000 tpa of high purity quartz processing capacity has been installed and several qualities (PQE, PQS, PQST, PQL) with total impurity levels from 35 down to 5 ppm were presented. Although extensive exploration work has been carried out, only small scale deposits have been indentified calling for selective mining and small output. This makes Jiangsu Pacific Quartz, the biggest lamp tubing producer in China, still struggling to find enough raw material from domestic quartz deposits to suit its own demand.
The overall venue has been well organized to further support the communication with international industry, to promote the technical level of domestic quartz material, spread the scientific results and advanced experience of quartz material, and offer an interactive platform among quartz material corporations, manufacturing enterprises and research institutions.
