A new white paper on the processing of the rare earth bearing mineral eudialyte is now available for download.
Beside the well known REE deposit types of carbonatites (bastnaesite and monazite) and alluvial deposits (monazite), peralkaline complexes are of high interest in REE exploration. Eudialyte is a red, magenta or brown colored mineral and one of the most significant ore minerals occurring in a peralkaline environment.
The white paper is meant to shed a light on grain size distribution, benefits of physical beneficiation and the physical beneficiation process of eudialyte. The mineral shows two outstanding characteristics: It contains an above average ratio of heavy rare earth elements (HREE), based on the total rare earth element (TREE) content and a well solubility. This refers to the fact that eudialyte is readily dissolvable in acids, in contrast to most other REE bearing minerals.
