ANZAPLAN supporting Altilium Clean Technology Ltd’s advanced battery recycling project

Due to increasing demand for lithium batteries, key metals like nickel, manganese and cobalt (“NMCs”) are of high commercial interest. The global increase in battery production makes it necessary to consider sourcing key battery materials from both primary and secondary sources – including battery recycling.

Following previous engagements with Altilium, ANZAPLAN is continuing to support Altilium in the optimization of Altilium’s core flowsheets and technologies. Anzaplan and Altilium are working together to further optimize processing strategies specifically for recycling these metals from black mass - with the optimization work focused on minimizing the use of  chemicals and energy consumption while maintaining high yields. This work is a key contributor in Altilium’s approach to reduce OPEX and CAPEX in large scale battery recycling plants, as well as increasing recycling efficiencies and payables on recycled products.
