ANZAPLAN completed Black Earth Minerals NL’s flake graphite testwork program

BlackEarth Minerals NL (“BlackEarth”) assigned ANZAPLAN to conduct test work to evaluate the flake graphite of its Maniry project in Madagascar.

BlackEarth’s Maniry project covers an area of approximately 143 km2. The project is reached by way of 40 km of secondary dirt roads heading north of Ampanihy, a large regional township in southern Madagascar.

Previous systematic exploration at Maniry revealed that it hosts a large-scale graphite mineralised system. Preliminary work on most of the defined targets has been completed. Indicated and inferred resource results from recent drilling confirm consistent, thick, outcropping high grade graphite results.

ANZAPLAN was appointed to perform detailed downstream processing test work with BlackEarth’s flake graphite concentrate to evaluate its amenability to spheroidization and upgrading to battery grade purity applying different purification routes.

The obtained purified spherical graphite product was then characterized with regard to its electrochemical performance.
