ANZAPLAN attended the CRU Silicon Market Forum 2023 which was hosted in Krakow, Poland over three days from 19-21 September.
The first day started off with a site visit to the Tokai COBEX carbon electrode site in Nowy Sacz.
Some of the questions that were addressed in the Silicon Market Forum included the onset of stronger growth in global silicon demand, driving factors of future consumption growth, newly emerging capacities, supply-demand scenarios and importance of geopolitical and environmental issues in the development of the silicon industry.
Dr. Reiner Haus, ANZAPLAN managing director, presented on the topic ”Quartz – a critical resource?” and provided great insights into the assessment of quartz resources covering the whole value chain from mine to market focusing on risks, constraints and timeline involved in the development of quartz projects. Additionally his presentation shed light on the critical supply / demand balance in the high growth markets that fuel the demand for new quartz resources.
Throughout the event we took advantage of the great opportunities to liaise with our valued clients and making new contacts including the leading producers, consumers and traders of silicon metal, polysilicon and silicones.
